Jennifer Ladd
LPC-A, NCC, CAGCS, RYT-275.
Welcome to my space, I am so glad you are here!
I’m Jen (she/they). I am a Brainspotting-trained, Licensed Professional Counselor with Appraisal Privileges (LPC-A), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-275) working with clients who live in Louisiana.
As a lifelong animal lover, I am passionate about working with veterinary medicine professionals, understanding the unique stressors faced by those in helping and high-intensity professions.
I utilize an existential (the philosophy of meaning making) approach to therapy that incorporates somatic awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness-based practices that align with your individual needs and goals for therapy.
My practice is non-judgmental, compassionate and collaborative in an effort to cultivate trust, safety, and respect. I value all dimensions of human diversity, and I am a proud accomplice within the LGBTQAIP+ community.
Who I work with…
I am honored to work alongside adolescents (ages 14+) and adults. Including those experiencing:
Vet Med aligned helpers who are seeking recovery from burnout or support in stress management.
Anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or overwhelm.
Grief that is experienced as a multitude of waves, emotions and thoughts.
A longing to feel more mindful, self-compassionate, authentic, and values aligned.
A desire for freedom from obsessive compulsive tendencies.
CPTSD/PTSD recovery and somatic concerns.
Navigating a new chapter or a season of life transition.
What it’s like to work with me..
In individual therapy sessions, we’ll explore your experiences through a meaningful and collaborative approach, focusing on:
Honoring Your Lived Experience: I see you as a whole person, shaped by your lived experiences and the ways they influence how you move through the world. Our work will strive to honor your unique intersections of culture, values, beliefs, and social injustices.
Meaning-Making, Somatics and Mindfulness: I utilize an existential approach to therapy, grounded in the philosophy of meaning making, and integrate somatic awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness-based practices.
Integrating Evidence-Based Practices: Neuroscience informs my clinical practice, and I often share research and evidence-based resources with clients. I am trained in Brainspotting (levels 1 & 2) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I frequently use skills from polyvagal theory, existential therapy, feminist theory, parts work, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Authenticity and Self-Compassion: Together, we may explore how your experiences have shaped your relationship with your body, laugh at some dark humor together, and work toward integrating authenticity, self-compassion, somatic awareness, and mindfulness in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable for you.
I know that beginning the therapy process can feel overwhelming. If you feel like we may be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out whenever you feel that you are ready.
