Jennifer Ladd
LPC-A, NCC, CAGCS, RYT-275.
Welcome to my space, I am so glad you are here!
I’m Jen and my pronouns are (she/they). I am a Brainspotting-trained, Licensed Professional Counselor with Appraisal Privileges (LPC-A), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-275) working with clients who live in Louisiana.
I work with teens (14+) and adults who are navigating nervous system overwhelm. I utilize a trauma responsive, existential approach to therapy that incorporates mindfulness-based practices, somatic awareness and focuses on your individual needs and goals for therapy. My practice is non-judgmental, compassionate and collaborative in an effort to cultivate trust, safety, and respect. I value all dimensions of human diversity, and I am a proud accomplice within the LGBTQAIP+ community.
As a lifelong animal lover, I love working with veterinary medicine professionals, understanding the unique stressors, and emotional challenges faced by those in helping and high-intensity professions.
Who I work with…
I am honored to work alongside teens (ages 14+) and adults who are navigating nervous system overwhelm.
I specialize in providing safe, supportive and affirming care to those within the LGBTQAIP+ community, veterinary medicine professionals, and folks who are navigating anxiety, OCD, grief experiences, PTSD/CPTSD, and life transitions.
What it’s like to work with me..
I see you as a whole person with lived experiences that has influenced who you are and how you move through the world (this includes honoring the intersections of culture, values, beliefs and social injustices). Neuroscience strongly informs my clinical practice, and I often share evidence-based research articles with my clients.
I am trained in Brainspotting for trauma recovery and exposure response prevention practices for OCD recovery. I often integrate techniques from polyvagal theory, existential theory, somatic psychotherapy, feminist theory, eco-therapy, expressive arts, parts work and acceptance and commitment therapy.
While working together, we will probably talk about how your experiences have impacted your relationship with your body, laugh at some dark humor you’ve used to cope with the hard things you’ve been carrying, and then dive deeper into what authenticity, self-compassion and mindfulness looks like in your life.
I know that beginning the therapy process can feel overwhelming. If you feel like we may be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out through the contact form or psychology today whenever you feel that you are ready.
